Sports Mentoring
sports mentoring
Our Active Sports Mentoring service offers a therapeutic, movement-based approach to supporting pupils’ social, emotional and mental health. Designed for children and young people who benefit from a practical, active style of support, this service helps pupils build confidence, resilience and positive relationships through the power of sport.
Supporting Emotional Growth Through Sport
Some pupils find it challenging to manage emotions, build self-esteem or resolve conflict effectively. These difficulties can become barriers to learning and engagement in school life. Our sports mentoring sessions use sport as a positive outlet to help pupils develop essential life skills, improve emotional awareness and gain confidence in themselves and their abilities.
Empowering Pupils with Lifelong Skills
Each pupil takes part in a personalised programme, working one-to-one or in small groups with a qualified mentor. Sessions focus on helping pupils:
- Discover and build on their strengths
- Take part in enjoyable, structured physical activities in a safe environment
- Develop practical self-help and coping strategies
- Explore their thoughts, feelings and goals
- Build transferable skills for school and beyond
- Learn to set and achieve personal goals with the support of a positive role model
Delivered by Experienced Sports Mentors
All sessions are delivered by qualified, experienced and DBS-checked sports mentors who take a person-centred, relational approach to supporting each pupil. The focus is on promoting long-term mental well-being and empowering pupils to apply what they learn beyond the mentoring sessions.
Flexible School-Based Support
Schools and educational settings can purchase regular sessions where a dedicated sports mentor visits on-site to work directly with pupils, offering a consistent and engaging source of support tailored to the needs of the school community.
Our Sports Mentors: Meet Callum & Lewis
Callum and Lewis live and breathe sport, using it to promote physical and mental well-being while helping others build life-long skills to sustain this outside their sessions. Both are passionate about the connection between mind and body and use sport as a vehicle to support children and young people facing emotional and personal challenges. Callum, a personal trainer and semi-professional footballer, has extensive experience delivering PE in schools, running after-school clubs, organising sports days, and providing 1:1 and group coaching across a wide range of sports. Lewis, also a personal trainer, runs mental and physical wellness retreats and is an experienced football coach who enjoys hiking and spending time with family and friends. Their own life experiences make them highly relatable to young people, and their pupil-centred, relationship-based approach is always well received.
